Kenshi is a single player Role Playing Game set in a vast and atmospheric ‘Sword-Punk’ style open world. With a mix of squad-based control and city-building features, gameplay is completely free-roaming and open, with the freedom and potential to do whatever you want. Set in an unrelenting world of bloodthirsty cannibals, starving bandits, brutal slavers and wild beasts, survival alone is a grueling struggle. You are not the chosen one. You’re not great and powerful. You don’t have more ‘hit points’ than everyone else. You are not the center of the universe, and you are not special.

I got my hands on 0.70 version Alpha, meaning that the game is still in development. There are currently unfinished gameplay features, with few crashes and bugs at this stage, but most of the random crashes have been fixed with the latest update. I will first start with the system requirements, and although minimum configuration states that low-spec machine is needed, the game is pretty "thirsty" and I doubt it would be enjoyable with minimum spec configuration;

First you will create your character from the vast of options available for customization. Play with one character or control a whole team, it's up to you. You can even edit your team characters, and build up their strengths. At the start of the game almost everyone will be stronger than you. You will have to use every skill available to survive. When you're injured you will limp, crawl, pass out from exhaustion or thirst, and even lose limbs or eyes completely. But no worries there, you can simply replace severed limbs with robotic replacements.

Combat is Real-Time Strategy style with a choice of ranged, melee and unarmed fighting styles. You can craft your weapons and armors from blueprints, or you can do some research.
Since this is just a first look, I will not go any deeper than this, let's just hope for a game release soon, for a full review (Q1, 2015). Until then, head over to Kenshi official website, try out the demo, or even buy an Alpha version from Steam, while it is 25% OFF during the Holiday Sale.
