No, Baldur's Gate 3 is not confirmed, however, Beamdog has a new blog post with information about their projects for the next twelve months. The studio is now working on a new game set between Baldur's Gate and Baldur's Gate 2, which is intimately linked to the Bhallspawn [sic] storyline, as tweeted back in 2012, by Trent Oster from Beamdog.
"We've mentioned before that Adventure Y will be an addition to the Baldur’s Gate line using the Infinity engine, bridging the gap between Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition and Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition. We have an exciting release planned for this game, something bigger than we've ever done before," the studio wrote on its Beamblog. You can see the Leaked pictures from the "Project Y" below.
By late summer we should expect next project after "Adventure Y" or, as the studio named it the Project: Beartrap. "Right now all we can say about Project: Beartrap is that it exists and it’s a departure for us in terms of what we've done in the past. Also, the project might involve sharks." We should get more details about Project: Beartrap in the mid-year.
As for a potential Baldur's Gate 3 or even D&D 5th edition, that's not happening yet. The studio wrote, "We got a lot of questions about Dungeons & Dragons fifth edition and a potential Baldur’s Gate III. We'd be lying if we said we never think about doing a Baldur’s Gate III game, so we won't say that. But we will say there’s nothing in the works yet regarding BGIII or a 5th edition game."
