By closing an extraordinary year for Role Playing Games, it’s time to declare the best of 2014. This has been one of the best years for RPG genre in recent memory, despite of a relatively quiet schedule of big-budget releases. It seems like, In 2014, Role Playing Games with distinctive visions made more of a splash than games with big budgets. For those who don't know, RPG Gamer had a voting process in past two weeks, where we needed you for the final score. Although the voting is now closed, you can view the nominees here. But enough talking, let's see the final results:

FANS PICk GOTY 2014
You've decided! BioWare's Dragon Age: Inquisition, which was nominated for the Best RPG of the Year and Best Game of the Year categories at The Game Awards, earned a Role Playing Game of The Year 2014 - FANS PICK trophy. Dragon Age: Inquisition has the highest user voting score of 94, which left behind the Dragonfall - Director's Cut for one whole point. DA:I made 90 points in total score, which put the game to the second place. Congratulations to the developers at BioWare for yet another game award!

Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut GOTY 2014
The standalone sequel to Shadowrun Returns, a successful kickstarter game by developers at Harebrained Schemes, made it! With the highest of 91 in total score, Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut made it for the best Role Playing Game Of The Year 2014! We enjoyed Dragonfall and wish the best to Herebrained Schemes developers, and are looking forward to see what the team has planned next with new Kickstarter Campaign hinted for 2015.
Brilliant writing mixed with compelling characters and gameplay make Dragonfall stand out as a winner. ~ User comment
